A traffic stop involving a pregnant woman turned into something extremely concerning instead.
It was reportedly a trick all along.
A traffic stop near Batesville, Arkansas turned dramatic when the driver claimed they were en route to the hospital for a pregnancy emergency. Not only was there reportedly not an emergency, but officers realized the people in that car had used that story before months ago to get out of a traffic stop. That’s when officers started looking in the car.
Traffic Stop Turns Serious in Batesville, Arkansas
According to case documents, during a routine traffic stop in Batesville, Arkansas the driver was identified as someone named Ryan Hicks. The passenger was Daniel Wooten. There was also a female named Cheyenne Hubbard.
When they were pulled over, law enforcement say that Wooten claimed the woman was pregnant and on the way to the hospital in a medical emergency:
“WOOTEN stated they were carrying HUBBARD to the hospital because she was pregnant and hurting.”
But then one of the officers told the other that it was a trick:
“During the stop, it was learned from another officer, that a few months earlier they gave the same hospital story to another officer and didn’t go to the hospital.”
The search of the vehicle reportedly revealed illegal substances.
Wooten Now Faces Charges For Serious Drugs
Daniel Wooten now faces charges including possession of methamphetamine or cocaine, under 2 grams, classified as a Class D felony.
Additional charges include possession of drug paraphernalia and a hold for the Drug Task Force.
Wooten is currently detained with a bond set at $5,000, under booking number IDCO-7726-01-25.
