They followed through on their threat.
After weeks of negotiation that we have reported on, the plug has been pulled on KARK 4 News in Arkansas. KARK-TV (channel 4) is a television station in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States, affiliated with NBC.
KARK 4 News confirms that they have officially been removed from Optimum cable company. Optimum is a large cable company with millions of customers across the country. Now users of the service can no longer access KARK 4 News after negotiations reportedly fell through with the cable service provider.
KARK 4 News Dropped From Large Cable Network
KARK 4 News released the following statement after being dropped from the cable line-up:
“OPTIMUM Subscribers: KARK has been forced off your line-up, and important programming you pay for has disappeared.”
OPTIMUM has reportedly refused to negotiate in good faith since October.
The situation is complicated by Altice, OPTIMUM’s parent company, reportedly facing financial strain from billions of dollars in debt. This has led to similar channel blackouts in the past, including the recent removal of MSG Network.
Subscribers are encouraged to contact OPTIMUM at 888-276-5255 to express their dissatisfaction. The provider suggests switching to other cable services offering competitive introductory packages.
There’s a fear that more channels may be dropped soon, with OPTIMUM reportedly offering one-time credits as a retention strategy. The programming provider urges immediate action from subscribers to push for a resolution that prioritizes viewer interests.
