An apartment fire led to an emergency evacuation by helicopter in Russellville, Arkansas.

On January 14th, Russellville Fire Department units responded to a fire alarm at 9:30 PM. An occupant outside her apartment reported the blaze, escalating the response to a structure fire. Someone had to be airlifted after injuries.

Multiple fire units arrived on the scene swiftly.

Multiple fire units, including Medic 1 and various engines, arrived under Chief Joseph Browning’s command. Firefighters from Ladder 1 entered and swiftly put out the fire, limiting damage to one unit.

One resident was airlifted to UAMS in critical condition. Firefighters stayed to ensure no spread and to ventilate the building.

Damage was confined to the origin point, with loss assessments ongoing.

The fire’s cause remains under investigation.
