A grass fire caused by car has led to both sides of traffic on the interstate to be shut down. Arkansas State Police confirmed the details on social media.
Car Fire Leads To Interstate Shutdown
According to the Arkansas State Police:
“A vehicle fire on I-30 WB at the 83-mm has the interstate shut down on both sides. EB traffic is rerouted at the 83-mm to go to Hwy 67 (Friendship). WB traffic is at a standstill at the 86-mm, with no way to exit until the 91-mm.”
A grass fire has been reported near Mile Marker 83.7, approximately 3.7 miles northeast of Caddo Valley. The fire is affecting the westbound right lane of traffic.
The incident was first reported by the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) at 3:15 PM CDT on October 22, 2024, with the last update at 4:29 PM CDT.
