Tuckerman Police Department Reveals DUI Checkpoint Plan
The Tuckerman Police Department, along with other local law enforcement, will set up sobriety checkpoints across Tuckerman this Friday. Operations will run from 7 PM to 1 AM.
Please note that it’s not entirely clear how many law enforcement agencies will be involved.
According to the police announcement:
“The deterrent effect of DWI/DUI checkpoints is a proven resource in reducing the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol or drug involved crashes. DWI/DUI checkpoints are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DWI/DUI arrests affording the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence. Locations are chosen with safety considerations for the officers and the public.”
Safety for both officers and the public guides the selection of checkpoint locations. This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to enhance road safety.
Tuckerman residents and visitors are advised to plan for these temporary stops. The police aim to minimize inconvenience while maximizing safety.

I don’t like the idea of drunks on the road but dui checkpoints are unconstitutional. One must be suspected of a crime in order to be detained by police
