A big announcement was made at the last Greers Ferry City Council meeting.
Greers Ferry’s Police Chief Sammy Green revealed that Drug Task Force (DTF) operations had led to 185 grams of methamphetamines discovered in city limits from January through October 1st. The arrests and discoveries came after routine traffic stops and controlled buys.
Big Drug Discoveries In Greers Ferry
Police Chief Green commended the DTF’s hard work busting drug crime in the city limits, explaining how it’s really gone unreported due to the nature of the work:
“We don’t always talk about it at our meetings because it affects the way DTF does what they do.”
Using controlled buys and routine traffic stops, the local police department have made big strides in going after drug crimes.
He revealed that 185 grams of methamphetamines have been found since January:
“Just until October 1st, they have uncovered 185 grams of methamphetamines.”
Green emphasized that all drug busts have happened within city limits:
“This is just in Greers Ferry… It doesn’t go outside our city limits.”
He commended the work everyone had put into tracking down the drugs, saying:
“They have really put in a lot of time. We all have.”
