A devastating accident near Batesville, Arkansas led to the highway being shut down.

After the Batesville Fire Department blocked off the road after a fatal car crash, local business Walker Recycling Inc. JW & Sons Scrap confirmed the tragic news that it was one of their drivers. You can read their statement below.

Fatal Batesville Crash Involved Local Business Driver

It all started when the Batesville Fire Department confirmed that the Highway 69 between Magness and Newark was closed until further notice due to a major accident.

The road was was opened back up at 1:20pm.

Sadly, local business Walker Recycling Inc. JW & Sons Scrap confirmed it was one of their drivers and trucks involved in the deadly accident:

“It is with a heavy heart that we make this post. Our driver and truck were involved in the accident this morning on Highway 69 at Newark OMP plant. Please be patient with our crew as we navigate our grief. Rest easy driver. Please keep his family in your prayers in the coming days and weeks as they navigate their unbearable loss.”

They also confirmed that they will likely be closed for two days following the accident:

“We will be closed the remainder of today and possibly tomorrow. Please call or message before you come this way. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate this devastating loss to our scrap family.”
