Large Fire Breaks Out At Batesville School

They’re cancelling school after severe fire damage.

School Superintendent Dr. Kenneth James has confirmed that a fire broke out at Eagle Mountain Elementary in Batesville, Arkansas. The extensive damage has caused school to be delayed. The mystery fire was called in to emergency responders.

Emergency Responders Called In To Batesville Fire

According to James, the incident was spotted by the school’s milk delivery man around 1:30 am, who reported smoke coming from a classroom.

The fire was largely contained to one classroom, with some water damage reported in another on the basement level. Disaster Specialists have been called in to clean and disinfect the affected areas, ensuring the school’s safety.

Due to the damage, classes at Eagle Mountain Elementary have been canceled for Tuesday, with all staff instructed to report to the District Office at 8:00 am. The school administration hopes to resume classes on Wednesday.

Dr. Kenneth James, the Superintendent, expressed gratitude for the delivery man’s quick action and the community’s support during this time.
