Central Arkansas is officially set to welcome its first Buc-ee’s.

Sanders released the following statement:

“Buc-ee’s is coming to Arkansas and Saline County, right in the heart of our state, will be its home.”

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced at the 2024 Salt Bowl that Buc-ee’s will be opening a new location in Benton, Saline County. This will be the first Buc-ee’s in Arkansas and will feature a 75,000-square-foot store with over 100 gas pumps and 225 jobs, tying it for the largest Buc-ee’s ever built.

The announcement comes after months of negotiations and updates as Benton city officials and Buc-ee’s finalized the deal. The city expressed excitement about being chosen for the new location, with construction expected to begin soon.

Founded in Texas, Buc-ee’s is expanding across the South with its large travel centers, which are known for their extensive gas pump stations and wide variety of food and shopping options. The Benton location will be the closest Buc-ee’s to Arkansas residents, with the nearest one currently in Springfield, Missouri.

The Buc-ee’s east of Shreveport is closer to the Arkansas border than the one in Springfield, Missouri.
