It’s a very disturbing situation in what is normally a quiet, peaceful city.
We recently reported that campaign signs have been stolen in Fairfield Bay. A giant banner belonging to Jeff Smallmon Sr. disappeared from the Fairfield Bay entrance!
Now businesses all across Fairfield Bay, Arkansas are facing complaints for even allowing campaign signs in their yard for local city council candidates. As a result, some businesses aren’t even allowing signs at all to avoid becoming a political target.
Businesses Face Complaints For Allowing Local Campaign Signs
Here’s what we know.
- One healthcare business reportedly got a phone call asking them to take down signs for a candidate the caller didn’t like.
- Several businesses in the city have decided not to allow political signs at all this year due to backlash.
- At least 2 political signs pertaining to the mayor recall reportedly went missing on Dave Creek Pkwy.
It’s obviously not good when business leaders of a city can’t even support their candidates or votes of choice.
This has never happened in Fairfield Bay in recent memory. Some locals say they’ve never seen anything like it.
Hopefully, the political situation will get better by or before November.

Signs should be allowed anywhere the property owner allows them, subject to government ordinances.
