Dr. Terrell L. Tebbetts, the distinguished Martha Heasley Cox Chair in American Literature at Lyon College, will be the centerpiece of the next episode of the Lyon College “Career Pathways” podcast, set to premiere Monday, Sept. 16, on YouTube. The episode promises an engaging exploration of Dr. Tebbetts’ extensive 54-year tenure at Lyon College, where he has shaped the lives of countless students through his teaching and leadership. During the podcast, Dr. Tebbetts will share anecdotes from his career, discuss the nuances of teaching English composition and literature, and illuminate the enduring significance of mastering the written word. He will also showcase his enthusiasm for poetry and provide a historical lens on Batesville, his cherished community.

Jayson Nichols, an English major and the producer of “Career Pathways,” will moderate the discussion. Patrick Lynch, director of the Center for Career and Professional Development at Lyon College, praised Dr. Tebbetts’ remarkable influence, stating, “Dr. Tebbetts’ dedication to his students, his craft, and the Lyon community is extraordinary.
