The Arkansas State Board of Election Commissioners has announced that two counties in north central Arkansas—Izard and Searcy—will be among five counties in the state to receive election monitors during the upcoming general election. The decision was approved on Wednesday following a request by Director Chris Madison.
Madison explained to KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News that the monitors are intended to ensure a smooth election process in these counties, where issues have been reported in past elections. Specifically, in Searcy County, the monitors will oversee the ballot operations and hand counting procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
