You can’t bock county roads anymore and get away with it. At least, not in White County.
The White County Quorum Court has just passed an ordinance that will punish people who block county roads. Failure to clear a road of obstruction will lead to punishment.
Daily Citizen reporter Greg Geary got details about the story.
No More Road Blocking
The White County Quorum Court has passed an ordinance aimed at preventing road blockages. This measure allows for fines if residents impede county roads.
County Judge Lisa Brown explained the necessity of the ordinance. It provides legal recourse if someone refuses to clear a road obstruction.
The ordinance was recommended by the Association of Arkansas Counties. Their legal counsel advised its adoption for potential future disputes.
With this ordinance, the county now has the authority to enforce road clearance. Fines will be imposed on those who fail to comply.
