A Bryant man named Phillip Batchelor has been arrested and charged with embezzlement, accused of stealing over $23,000 from a local church camp. The investigation by Bryant Police started on March 19th of this year and found that Batchelor, who worked as the camp treasurer at National Camp Ay Bogg Springs, had been stealing money from the camp’s bank account for two years, totaling $23,790.96.

The embezzlement allegations were brought to the prosecuting attorney’s office by four National Camp representatives. Batchelor’s arrest underscores the seriousness of financial crimes and the need for vigilant oversight in financial management roles.

The Bryant Police Department’s thorough investigation led to the discovery of Batchelor’s actions and subsequent legal actions against him.
